Urban Mobility Transitions in Belo Horizonte

This collection of maps was created for the PhD thesis of economist André Veloso, which investigates the origins and formation of the urban bus business in Belo Horizonte between 1950 and 1980. The researcher was responsible for the entire process of research and documentation of historical information presented in these maps.

In one of the chapters, he analyzes the evolution of tram lines and their service capacity during the first half of the 20th century to understand the roots that allowed for the growth of roadway systems and the hegemony of buses in urban transportation.
